Sometimes it is better to visualize things by seeing examples of them rather than just reading rules so a few sample reports are shown and described below.
BATTLE SUMMARY
Once all movement orders for our effective turn 0 have been submitted I will post a Battle Summary here. The summary will include a list of fights that need to take place, where and who is the attacker and who is the defender (where possible to determine). It will also include the date the battle report has to be submitted by - now this date can be sooner or later - you as players will determine the pace of this campaign.
The Battle Summary will be per each movement order as events in movement order 1 will determine whether or not moves made in movement order 2 remain valid.
Example (assuming the campaign took place in Europe and not Africa so I don't inadvertently give anyone's positions away!)
Battle Summary Move 1
1. Jon attacking Owen in Belgium (26th June)
2. Terry attacking Finn in Norway (26th June)
3. Stephen attacking Jon in Germany (26th June)
Now assuming that Jon gave the order to move into France in his second movement order there are several possible outcomes:
(a) He beats Owen and whatever remains of his army pushes on into France
(b) He fails to beat Owen and his forces retreat to Germany, this means that his second move into France is still legal as he can reach it directly from Germany, so his defeated army will attempt to redeem themselves and push on into France
(c) He fails to beat Owen, his forces attempt to retreat to Germany put Stephen has attacked and if Stephen wins then Germany is occupied so Jon's army will have to retreat to Holland or Luxembourg. If he retreats to Luxembourg his second move remains valid, if he retreats to Holland he will remain there as he cannot reach France from Holland.
Individual Season Report
At the end of each season once any battles have been completed each player will receive a simple, individual report.
Individual Report
You have xxx points in reserve
Your army moved from Holland to Belgium and captured it.
Your army moved from Belgium to Germany (defended by Jon), you lost and retreated to Belgium.
Holland was attacked by Bob - your Home Defence Army was destroyed. YOU HAVE LOST YOUR CAPITAL!
