Personally yes if someone is attacking your home turf it either should be Maximum Attrition or something similar to show that your holding your grounds with everything you've got.

One way to spice up the home defence is to literally make it to the death... make it so that, unless the attacker retreats to lick his wounds, the game continues until one side is totally wiped out.
